SYLVAIN

MÉTRO - Alimentation Sylvain Bolduc 2011 Inc

Sylvain started his career in 1988 as a supermarket bagger at Steinberg. Ten years later he was in charge of his own shop. But craving a direct contact with the client, he then decided to launch a career as a representative in the door and window industry. In 2011, Sylvain took over Griffintown’s Métro and has put his in-depth know-how to work: training employees, creating team spirit, and finding ways to offer a wide variety of products. The neighbourhood Métro now serves more than 18,000 clients every week, and Sylvain strives to make sure each one leaves a satisfied customer. Ask him to add a product on his shelves and he’ll be more than happy to give it a go.

We had to meet the needs of a growing clientele by diversifying our offer and products.

BENOÎT

Ludovik

The shop’s name is inspired by the character in the film Ma vie en Rose. Ludovik opened in 2006 thanks to Benoît, an entrepreneur with a particular fondness for decoration, design, and accessories. Initially located on de la Montagne Street, Ludovik moved to Notre-Dame Street in 2012. Come in and meet the friendly loquacious owner and discover his unique world.

I have an adventurous spirit and I wanted to share my passion.

Sophie et Marco

Chez Sophie

Born in Montreal, Sophie met her sommelier husband Marco during a trip to Italy to perfect her culinary expertise. Having completed an internship at the Institut Paul Bocuse, Sophie and Marco decided to open their own restaurant. Chez Sophie first opened its doors in Lebanon and a second location was added on Notre-Dame Street in 2013. Its menu highlights the chef’s current favourite tastes and products while its wine list is tailored according to Marco’s high standards. Together, Sophie and Marco share their passion for traditional food and take very good care of each patron who sets foot in their restaurant. Step into their universe and let yourself be enthralled by their passion for sophisticated cuisine.

Our clients are friendly and curious… they’re interested in our work.

Roger

L'Allumeur

Roger opened l’Allumeur in 2010. When you enter the shop, you travel back in time to visit different eras and their respective trends. You’ll find his lamps at Drinkerie and Spanel, but also on M sur Masson and even in different films. While you’re in the area, stop by and see his neighbour André at Antiquités Foley l’Écuyer and discover the treasures of an avid collector of luggage and canes.

People will always need lamps.

Yann

Spanel

Originating in a small village in Brittany, and travelling all the way to a picturesque seaside Florida town, Yann’s family’s buckwheat crêpes are now available in Griffintown. Every day for breakfast, brunch, or lunch, the crêpe maker welcomes you with a smile on his lips and a crêpe in his hands, still made using his grandmother’s recipe. A great way to start your morning.

Griffintown is now a key destination thanks to the arrival in the area of different institutions.

Patricia

MITCHELL GOLD & BOB WILLIAMS

The leitmotif for these two furniture designers has always been comfort. And the rest of the team’s mission? Sharing. As our socially-conscious society increasingly seeks quality and eco-friendly choices, Patricia and her associate Ray are proud to put their talent to use for a diversified clientele. Mithcell Gold + Bob Williams are the forerunners of this modern way of producing by treating their employees right. Patricia and her team carefully select the best pieces of the collection, made in the USA, in order to design and offer furniture tailored for life in Montreal.

There’s a lot of history here in Griffintown.

DENISE & MARC-ANDRÉ

Brasseurs de Montréal

Brasseurs de Montréal is the result of a lifelong dream. Denise and Marc-André decided to give their dream a shot in March 2008. What was initially supposed to be a tasting room has now evolved into a resto-bar where businessmen and businesswomen intermingle with artists and neighbourhood workers who have all come to enjoy the 20 varieties of beer offered and the friendly and unpretentious ambiance.

We offer the best quality/price in the neighbourhood.

KAZIMIERZ (CASIMIR) & MOHAMED

Proxim

Two pharmacists with one common goal: to provide the best solutions for their patients. With a background in research, they decided to put their expertise to practice and are now in charge of the Proxim in Griffintown. Their mission is to immerse themselves in their growing community by building ties with residents. They make sure to take the time to offer you the best advice. Casimir and Mohamed are attuned to the neighbourhood’s needs, by helping one patient at a time. Stop by and say hi, you’ll be welcomed with open arms.

How did we become part of a community? By opening a pharmacy and listening to the needs of our clients.

KIMIKO & ALAIN

Studio Breathe

Griffintown’s Studio Breathe was born in 2006 from a partnership between a professional boxer, his wife, and a yoga teacher from California. Alexandra and Alain wanted a space that offered popular activities under one roof and they now give boxing, kickboxing, karate, Pilates, and yoga classes. Kimiko is in charge of the yoga courses and makes sure that each teacher creates a varied and innovative course that combines different styles mirroring their individual journeys. Spending time at Studio Breathe is investing in your own wellbeing.

We’ve chosen this neighbourhood because we’re close to everything.

HERBERT & PIA + VICKY

Le Pot de fleurs

Originally from Austria, Pia and Herbert have been providing residents in Montreal and the surrounding areas with beautiful floral arrangements for the past 50 years. After a successful career as a stockbroker, Hebert purchased Pot de Fleurs in the early 1970s. With four store locations – Bonaventure, Westmount, Queen Elizabeth, and St-Lambert – Pia and Herbert decided in 2001 to focus on one point of sales on Notre-Dame Street. Since then, this charming couple serves an ever-growing clientele in-store and by delivery. Make them your florist and you might discover the secret to Pia and Herbert’s longevity.

The location has picked up tremendously lately… Had we known how Griffintown would evolve, we would own the building.

NOÉE, conjointe d’Alexis

Alexis le Gourmand

Alexis dreamt of opening an upscale grocery store for a very long time. He began to meet with producers and suppliers even before renting a space for his venture. In 2010, Alexis and his father found an abandoned warehouse that used to manufacture train parts and together they put the space back on track and opened their very own grocery store. Alexis’ wife Noée is also part of the team and manages the friendly and helpful staff at the store. Chez Alexis offers fresh local products, ready-to-eat meals, gift ideas… and familiar faces that are always happy to assist you.

Griffintown is a neighbourhood in full bloom that will soon become the place to be.

Paul et Marc

Le Richmond

Seeking a new adventure, Paul moved to Griffintown with his associate Luc Laroche in 2014. Located in a building built in 1869, Le Richmond has become one of the most renowned fine dining establishments in Montreal, thanks to its location in the heart of a trendy neighbourhood but also of course to the outstanding dining experience it offers. Born in Outaouais and raised on a small farm, Paul makes sure to incorporate local products into his menu. In fact, Le Richmond’s signature dish is a 40-day aged beef from Marchand du Bourg, a dish you’ll only find at Le Richmond. Reserve your table and step foot in a festive universe for an evening.

There’s a lot of history in Griffintown and the combination of heritage and modernity is incredible. It’s becoming a city within a city.
